We’re very proud to have opened our new Walker Park Café in September 2016, a new project centred around Newcastle’s communities. It’s all about local food, for local people – and it’s home to Rabbie Burns (well his statue)!
We offer great quality food from breakfast, quick lunches and hot meals so whether you fancy a quick catch-up and a coffee or a sit down meal, we’re there.
Community is important to us.
A large majority of our food is locally sourced too; from Rington’s Coffee and Tea, to Mark Toney’s Ice-Cream and local butcher’s meat and farmer’s vegetables. The building was refurbished by local builders, and we’ve renovated donated furniture throughout the building.
Best of all – all profits made from the café will be reinvested into the YMCA Newcastle’s projects to support local young people. So by spending at Walker Park Café, you are helping to invest in our future generation.
We are open and welcome to anyone, and will always offer a friendly face and cosy atmosphere!
Along with the Café, there is an adjoining Community Centre, which can be hired for private functions, meetings or events. It’s large open space and central location means it’s perfect for large and local meetings, and there’s also the option of catering at low prices!
